Double Dog Farm is a c.1757 cape on 60 acres alongside of Atwood Creek, 15 minutes outside of Woodstock. Sited high on a dead-end road, it was likely built by Dutch immigrants who moved into this mountain valley to fell timber. Later it became a farm where Merino sheep dotted the landscape and stone walls still stand. Artist and illustrator, Rockwell Kent, bought the farm for his wife, who later sold it to portraitist and instrument maker Irwin Hoffman.
